Flores is an archipelago in the eastern of Indonesia. It was given the name “Cabo das Flores” by the Portuguese when they discovered it in the 15th century because of the colorful coral formations around the island. A region in Flores, Bajawa, is a small town in the highlands which has stunning natural scenery, unique and diverse cultures that attract domestic and foreign tourists to visit.

Bajawa Flores is a fertile region at 1.300 m above the sea level. Bajawa coffee is processed organically without the use of any chemical products. As other coffees from eastern Indonesia, Bajawa coffee has a strong flavor and fragrant. The production is not as many as in Sumatra, thus the price is higher for this coffee. With a recent focus on quality and assistance from international aid groups, Flores is beginning to create a name for itself in specialty coffee circles.

An Indonesian masterpiece, the coffee is a truly unique coffee. The gentle acidity effortlessly accelerates into finely layered earthy and dark chocolatey notes. The special aftertaste is refreshing and sweet, making it one of the finest medium to dark roasted Indonesian coffees you’ll ever have.
